Jeremy and Miriam go to Chelsea Flower Show
It seems hardly credible that as a landscape designer I had never been to Chelsea Flower Show.
Having watched Alan Titchmarsh and other design and horticultural celebrities on the TV, expounding the virtues of the winning gardens and exhibits, I was always a bit dubious about what the cameras may not be showing.
I expected to find a lot of rough edges behind the stage set gardens but after probing my way through the madding crowd, I was truly amazed at the quality of workmanship. There was a wonderful contrast between the clinical and contemporary and the more organic, natural approach, with something there for every taste.
I am no longer a TV couch cynic, it was a superb day and I can’t wait for next year.
